Mini books on the rules of the brain are now out in english

Two mini books on the rules of the brain are now out in English. They have been written so that children from the age of 10 and teenagers can understand and gain from them. The mini books are part of a series called “Brain Friends” consisting of seven books in total.

After having written five books for adults on the rules of the brain (one out in English so far: “Play Your Brain”), Denmark’s No 1 most productive non-fiction author, Anette Prehn, decided to enhance the life quality and learning of children and youth by sharing with them the core rules of the brain.

The first two mini books are now out in English and can be ordered from here.

The two mini books are profoundly recommended by two Danish top professors, Troels W. Kjaer and Per Schultz Joergensen:

Troels W. Kjær, brain researcher, medical director, and professor recommends Anette Prehn’s first mini book: “Full of knowledge, Anette Prehn leads us on the paths of the brain to a deeper understanding of how the brain assists us in everyday life. This book gives children, teenagers and everyone else insight into many important aspects of our wonderful brain. The book focuses on the brain both in terms of development throughout generations and regarding an individual’s ability to change the wiring of the brain, so that we can be courageous, happy and tackle issues with ease. I recommend it greatly.”

Per Schultz Joergensen, professor of social psychology, author of “Robust Children” (2017) recommends Anette Prehn’s second mini book:
“In ‘Become Friends with the Brain’s Amygdala’, Anette Prehn translates complicated physiological knowledge into highly useful mental exercises for children – at eye level. These are easy to apply, not the least because the book gives children a language to help them bridge the gap between their emotions in challenging social situations and a healthy, constructive handling of them. Through the book, children learn to understand, accept and regulate emotions and develop a sound inner compass. By placing anxiety, fear and stress in the amygdala, the child gains the ability to reflect and act more freely. This book is a great tool for strengthening children’s resilience!”

Anette Prehn is on a mission to make neuroscience available to all, i.e. easy to understand, remember and apply.

She is a keynote speaker, trainer and author who has inspired hundreds of thousands across the planet. People call her “the Cruyff of applied neuroscience”. She is a female entrepreneur who has been running her business for more than 13 years.

Her clients include Siemens, Bosch, Ericsson, Roche, Lego, Novo Nordic, Man Diesel and Turbo and Danske Bank. Throughout these many years, her clients have been powerfully inspired to apply neuroscience to work situations, but they have also asked her: “How do I more specifically apply the logics of the brain to parenting?” and “I can see my kids gaining from knowing this as well. What’s the best way to introduce them to these tools?” Being the mother of two and the stepmother of two, those questions got Anette Prehn going. She has started adding to her portfolio how parents, teachers and nursery nurses can become more brainsmart, thus nuturing an environment that helps kids learn, thrive and regulate emotions relevantly. And most recently, in her Brain Friends series, she is sharing with children and teenagers how to strike up a friendship with one’s brain rather than being at the receiving end only of its impulses and habits.

Anette Prehn is also a diligent creator of Danish songs, primarily in collaboration with composers Rasmus Skov Borring and Kristian Bisgaard. You can see / sing all her published songs here.
